our mobile application and services.

We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Name, email address, password (hashed and encrypted)
- User Behavior: App ratings, feature usage, and interaction data
- Device Information: Device model, OS version, IP address, app version
- Files You Process: Documents you convert using our service (temporarily stored for processing)
- Log Data: Timestamps, request types, error information
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for:
- Creating and managing your account
- Providing document conversion services
- Improving app features and user experience
- Sending important notifications about account or service changes
- Analyzing app performance and fixing issues

4. Data Storage & Security
- Database: User account data stored on MongoDB Atlas with encryption at rest
- Authentication: Passwords hashed with bcryptjs (never stored in plain text)
- Transmission: All data transmitted over HTTPS/SSL encryption
- Tokens: JWT authentication tokens with 7-day expiration
- Converted Files: Immediately deleted from our servers after download. We do not retain copies of your converted documents
5. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active
- Temporary Files: Deleted immediately after download or processing. No files are permanently stored on our servers
- App Ratings: Retained for analytics and service improvement
- Log Data: Retained for up to 90 days for security purposes
6. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. We may share data only when:
- Required by law or legal process
- Necessary to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property
- With your explicit consent
- With service providers who process data on our behalf (all under confidentiality agreements)
7. Children's Privacy
DocXpress does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware
that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information
immediately and terminate the child's account.

You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information through app settings
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
- Opt-out: Disable notifications in app settings
- Export: Request your data in portable format
